01. Process

Remote Kitchen + Interior Design

From concept to completion we have a simple process

to achieve the perfect design for your project.

.01 Select

Choose the kitchen design package from the selection of services we offer on the 'services + fees' page.

Our fee structure is set out to cover most standard kitchen design work we carry out.

Please contact us to discuss any other interior design or visualisation projects.

.02 Define

The first stage is to define a brief by establishing contact with you and identifying your project requirements. For remote design, this is carried out by email and phone conversation. If the service includes site/home visits we will take a comprehensive brief during the initial appointment. A well complied brief enables us to analyse your aspirations and requirements in detail and implement them into a well considered and executed design for you to apply to your project.

The design brief should include the following information -

  • Detailed sketch survey with dimensions clearly marked in millimetres. This includes all walls, door and window openings, door and window heights, including cill heights. Ceiling height.

  • Any proposed alterations to the existing space marked on the survey sheet or on a separate sketch.

  • Information of existing services including hot and cold water, gas and electric.

  • Proposed locations of services - if you are intending to relocate positions of the sink, appliances etc.

  • Detailed information regarding the style of kitchen - manufacturer/door style, handle style, materials, colours, type of worktop including material and thickness. This can be supplied by a detailed written brief and/or by images of influential kitchens and styles you like. This information can be shared with us with images or sketches sent via email or by using websites and apps such as Pinterest or Houzz.

  • Sketch layout - if you know how you would like the space to work.

  • List of appliances - freestanding or integrated, single or double oven etc. extractor type.

  • Proposed lighting - recessed downlights, pendant lights, surface spotlights, under cabinet lights, plinth lighting etc.

  • Proposed flooring type - material, colour, manufacturer.

  • Plus any other information you think might be relevant.

.03 Analyse

After receiving the design brief, our next task is to analyse the information you have supplied to us and work on the initial concept design for you.

Before we proceed to working on a concept design our first task is always to fully analyse the information you have supplied to us.

We check through all your notes, details and sketches to make sure we fully understand your brief to us. If we have any questions regarding the information provided, have any initial ideas or proposals we think you would like or be beneficial to your scheme, we will get back in touch straight away to ask questions or present our ideas to you.

Through experience we always listen carefully to our customers at the briefing stage. We never assume what our customers want or impose our own ideas.  Careful analysis of your brief enables us to foresee any potential problems and helps us fully realise your wishes or ideas. We only make suggestions or offer our input after thoughtful analysis of your brief.

.04 Conceptualise

During the concept stage we will get to work producing an initial design proposal based on your brief and our analysis.

Our concept proposal will then be sent back to you for your consideration. This won't be a fully refined and polished design package at this stage. Our initial proposal will give you chance to make any changes before we progress further with the design.

At this stage we can be as creative as you wish with your space, or just visualise your own ideas to help you envisage the space as will look.

Either way, our initial concept proposal drawings and information will help you decide how you wish to proceed before we work on refining the design visuals, produce technical drawings and more detailed information for you.

.05 Refine

As soon as the concept stage is complete and you are happy with our ideas and sketch proposals we will get straight to work with any amendments and producing a refined design package.

This will include -

  • Set of rendered 3D visuals that will offer a very close interpretation of how your new kitchen space could look.

  • 360 Degree panoramic view.

  • Plans and elevations - fully dimensioned and annotated.

With the refined design drawing package you will also receive all the relevant technical information to enable you to purchase your kitchen, associated products and components. With this full set of information you will be able to obtain quotes from suppliers and installers to make sure you get the best price for your kitchen. If you require further help from us, we can assist you to obtain quotes and help further with this process -

  • Kitchen schedule - full list of parts and components for you to purchase your kitchen units from your chosen supplier/s. Including part names and numbers relevant to your chosen manufacturer/supplier ranges, or generic part names.

  • Worktop schedule.

  • Appliance specification/list.

  • Installation schedule.
